Program Overview

The Institute of Integrated Laboratory Sciences offers a program to prepare individuals interested in only taking the categorical immunology national certification. The immunologist program is designed to provide clients with the knowledge base needed to pass the clinical immunology national examination.

 

Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer instruction in all aspects of clinical laboratory science including immunology, which encompasses, theory and principles of immunology, immunology practices and laboratory methods, immune disorders, infectious disease immunology, tumor immunology and transplantation immunology, quality control, quality assurance, quality improvement, and laboratory compliance.

Week 6: Major histocompatibility complex, cell-mediated immunity, major lymphokines & monokines

Week 7: Immunology of the newborn

​

Week 8: Immunity, immuno-prophylaxis, & immunotherapy 

​

Week 9: Immunological tolerance, autoimmunity, transplantation & rejection, tumors, & hypersensitivity.

Week 10: Review and exam

Week 11: Basic antigen - antibody reactions

​

Week 12: Miscellaneous immunologic techniques

​

Week 13: Cold agglutinins, & syphilis 

​

Week 14: Rheumatoid arthritis, CRP, herpes virus infections

​

Week 15: Mumps, measles, rubella, autoimmune disorders, antinuclear antibodies

​

Week 16: Primary/secondary immunodeficiency states, febrile agglutinins, & complement deficiencies 

​

Week 17:Cellular immune response, & immunoproliferative disorders

​

Week 18: Streptococcal serology, & human immunodeficiency virus

​

Week 19: Hepatitis viruses 

​

Week 20: Final review and Exam
